1926 - 1944 this house was the home of the extraordinary painter, Gluck (1895 - 1978). She commissioned Edward Maufe to convert an outbuilding into a studio in 1931. Here Gluck had her (1932 -1936) relationship with Constance Spry. We have also heard that Gluck had a relationship with Annette Mills, sister of John Mills and presenter of "Muffin the Mule".
